I've been driving the Tiguan L for over three years, and the factory-installed dashcam has been quite hassle-free. It automatically powers on and starts recording once the ignition is turned on, with a small icon displayed on the central control screen indicating normal operation. During daily driving, you don't need to worry about it at all—the footage is directly saved to a Micro SD card. It's generally recommended to use a 64GB high-speed card and format it periodically to prevent storage overload and lag. To review the footage, simply open the "Multimedia" menu on the central control screen and look for the "Dashcam" option, where you can view clips or access the live feed. If you want to watch it on your phone, download Volkswagen's "Volkswagen Car-Net" App, pair it with your car after connecting to Wi-Fi, and you can download and share video files through the app. In case of an accident, quickly press the emergency button on the steering wheel, and the system will lock the footage from that period to prevent overwriting. Remember to check the lens cleanliness and whether the card slot is loose to avoid blurry footage, which could compromise evidence for driving safety.
