How to Use the NIO Card Key?

Take out the card and approach the driver's side door. Place the card near the vehicle's B-pillar. The car will automatically unlock upon sensing the NFC signal. If the NFC fails to work, try wiping any moisture or stains off the B-pillar, as dirt can sometimes interfere with NFC signal recognition.
I usually drive a NIO ET7 and find the card key quite handy. To unlock the car, just hold the card close to the B-pillar of the door, about one centimeter away, and the door will open with a flash of the light—very responsive. After getting in, place the card on the designated induction spot in the center console, usually marked with a small circle, then press the brake to start the car. The whole process is simple and quick, much more convenient than fumbling for a traditional key in your pocket. The card key is slim and fits easily in a wallet or cardholder, reducing the number of items you need to carry. During initial setup, you’ll need to pair the new card via the car’s app by turning on Bluetooth—just a few steps. Once, I forgot to place the card inside the car, and the system reminded me it wasn’t detected. New users should check the manual’s location diagram to avoid missing the induction zone the first time. This key is waterproof, anti-loss, secure, and eco-friendly.
