How to Use the Motorcycle Fuel Switch?
1 Answers
The fuel switch has three positions: normal fuel supply, stop fuel supply, and reserve fuel supply. The ON or full cup symbol indicates using the main tank for normal fuel supply, OFF means stopping fuel supply, and RES or half cup symbol indicates using the reserve tank for fuel supply. Generally, when the fuel switch is turned upward, it's for reserve fuel; horizontally, it's to shut off fuel; and downward, it's for normal fuel supply. Additional information: Introduction to the main and reserve tanks of a motorcycle: The main and reserve tanks of a motorcycle do not actually refer to two separate tanks, but rather to two different fuel outlet pipes on the fuel switch at high and low positions. The main tank draws fuel from the higher outlet pipe, while the reserve tank draws from the lower outlet pipe. In reality, there is only one fuel tank.
