How to Use the Mercedes-Benz Column Shifter?

Here is the operation method for the Mercedes-Benz column shifter: 1. The default position is N (Neutral), push down from N to engage D (Drive); 2. Push up from N to engage R (Reverse), the raised part on the far right controls the P (Park) button; 3. Normally, the dashboard will display the current gear position. Additional information: Mercedes-Benz is a German automotive brand renowned for luxury and high performance, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, and a member of Daimler AG. Mercedes-Benz produces a variety of passenger cars and medium to large commercial vehicles. The brand's logo, a three-pointed star, symbolizes the mechanization of land, water, and air transportation.
I've been driving a Mercedes-Benz C-Class for three years, and I've really come to love the column shifter! When getting in the car, step on the brake, find the slender stalk on the right side of the steering wheel with your right hand, gently push it all the way down for D (Drive) to move forward, and push it up once for R (Reverse) to back up. When parking, just press the silver button on the top of the stalk to engage P (Park). Every gear shift requires stepping on the brake to operate, otherwise the stalk won't move. The most convenient feature is at red lights—pressing the brake deeply activates the HOLD function, allowing you to release your foot, and a green HOLD icon lights up on the dashboard. When the light turns green, just step on the accelerator to go, eliminating even the need to shift gears. The nine o'clock position on the steering wheel is left free, perfect for placing a phone, making it much more convenient than traditional gear levers. However, during the first week after getting the car, I kept instinctively reaching for the center console to find the gear stick—it took about two days to get used to it.
