How to use the manual mode of Changan CS75 automatic transmission?

In congested traffic or when briefly stopping at a red light, shift to D gear and press the brake. The engine load is slightly heavier, consuming more fuel; There is slight wear on the transmission gears. When climbing a steep slope, use the appropriate gear in manual mode to reduce gear shifting in D gear. Shifting must be done before pressing the accelerator. Pressing the accelerator while shifting can cause abnormal wear on the transmission and result in unstable driving.
Driving the Changan CS75 in manual mode is actually quite simple. My car also has a manual-automatic transmission, and switching isn't troublesome. While driving, first shift the gear lever from D to M position - that's manual mode. Then use the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel or the toggle near the gear lever: push up to shift up, pull down to shift down. I particularly like using this function when climbing hills or descending long slopes because it gives me better speed control and prevents brake overheating. For example, dropping one gear when climbing steep hills provides more power, while engine braking downhill reduces brake pad wear. It's also convenient for highway overtaking - downshifting gives quick acceleration. Just be careful not to let engine RPM get too high, as exceeding the redline may damage the engine. Overall, manual mode makes driving feel more flexible and adaptable to various road conditions, though beginners might prefer automatic for simplicity. With practice it becomes second nature, giving more confidence in complex driving situations.
