How to Use the Honda Civic Start-Stop System?
2 Answers
Honda Civic's start-stop system is enabled by default. If you need to disable this function, press the A-circle OFF button located at the top right of the gear lever. The auto start-stop function can only be manually turned off each time or permanently disabled through hidden programming. The auto start-stop function should be turned off when starting on a slope, as enabling it may cause the vehicle to roll back. The Honda Civic is available in both standard and TYPE S sport versions. The standard version is equipped with a 1.8L engine paired with a 5MT or 5AT transmission, while the TYPE S sport version features a 2.0L engine paired with a 5AT transmission. The 1.8L engine has been upgraded from the R18A1 with a displacement of 1799ml to the R18Z2 with a displacement of 1798ml. The newly added 2.0L engine has a maximum power output of 115kw.
I just started using the Honda Civic, and the start-stop system is really convenient. When stopping at a red light and holding the brake, the engine automatically shuts off, and it starts up immediately when you release the brake at a green light. I think the fuel-saving aspect is awesome—it can reduce a lot of fuel consumption when driving in the city. After starting the car, the system is enabled by default. If you want to turn it off, there's a button near the steering wheel to manually toggle it. Just be careful not to set the air conditioning too high, as the system might not activate then. The driving experience is smooth, with no noticeable vibrations, especially in city traffic, where it helps save a lot of money. For beginners, it takes a few days to get used to it, but remember to check the battery status regularly to ensure the system works properly. Overall, it's very simple to use, and the operation feels like a natural reflex.
