How to Use the Geely Emgrand Wiper?
2 Answers
Geely Emgrand's wiper is located on the right side of the steering wheel. By operating the wiper lever up, down, forward, and backward, you can adjust the wiper speed and frequency for both front and rear wipers. Pushing the lever downward will automatically return it to its original position, activating the wiper for one sweep. Pushing the lever upward offers three speed settings: slow, medium, and fast. Below are the instructions for using the wiper: 1. General use of the front wiper: Push the lever upward to activate the wiper in continuous mode. Release the lever to automatically return it to its original position, stopping the wiper. This is suitable for clearing small amounts of water or debris on the windshield. 2. To wash the windshield, pull the lever toward yourself (or toward the palm of your hand) to spray water and clean the windshield. The lever will automatically reset when released, stopping the water spray, and the wiper will stop working shortly after. 3. General use of the rear wiper: The rear wiper is controlled independently from the front wiper (even though they share the same lever). Even if the front wiper is set to OFF, the rear wiper can still operate separately.
When I first got my Emgrand, I wasn’t quite sure how to use the wipers either and spent a long time figuring them out. The control stalk on the right side of the steering wheel is the wiper switch: push it forward once for a single wipe, ideal for light drizzles; pull it backward to activate the washer fluid followed by three wipes. The knob with the raindrop symbol controls the intermittent speed—the higher you turn it, the more frequent the wipes. For heavy rain, just push the stalk all the way down for continuous high-speed wiping. The rear window also has a wiper, activated by twisting the end of the control stalk. Twice, I forgot to turn it off and drove on the highway with the wipers running after the rain stopped, which wore out the rubber blades much faster. Now I’ve made it a habit to reset the stalk once the rain stops and clean the blades with alcohol wipes every three months to extend their lifespan. If the washer fluid drops below the indicator line, it’s time to refill. In winter, switch to a -30°C antifreeze type, or you’ll risk frozen nozzles.
