The method to use the Focus wiper is as follows: 1. Push the entire wiper control lever down one position for the single wipe mode; 2. Push it up one position for the intermittent wipe mode; 3. Push it up two positions for the low-speed wipe mode; 4. Push it up three positions for the high-speed wipe mode; 5. Push it backward one position for the front wiper washer; 6. Push it forward one position for the rear wiper washer. The Focus is a compact 4-door, 5-seater sedan with body dimensions of 4647mm in length, 1810mm in width, 1468mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2705mm. The Focus is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and a 6-speed manual transmission, delivering a maximum power of 90 kW and a maximum torque of 153 Nm.
Sitting in the driver's seat of the Focus, the right-hand steering column stalk is the wiper control. Pushing it up one notch activates a single wipe, two notches for low-speed continuous wiping, and three notches for high-speed continuous wiping—simply adjust according to the rain intensity. The knob at the top of the stalk controls the rear wiper: turn it clockwise to activate, then rotate further to adjust speed. Using the washer fluid is even easier: just pull the stalk toward you, and it stops automatically when released. When driving at night in the rain, remember to switch the AC to defog mode first if the windshield fogs up, then turn on the wipers for better results. Never operate the wipers on a dry windshield—this wears out the rubber blades faster and damages the glass. In northern winters, always lift the wipers upright to prevent them from freezing to the glass, which can burn out the motor.
