How to Use the D123 Gears in an Automatic Transmission?

In this gear, the transmission will automatically switch between gears 1-5 based on speed and throttle conditions. Also a forward gear, in this setting the transmission automatically shifts between gears 1-3 and will not upshift to gears 4 or 5. It can be used as a limiting gear when traffic is not smooth, avoiding the frequent shifting between gears 3 and 4. In this gear, the transmission stays in 2nd gear, suitable for starting on slippery surfaces or as a limiting gear for slow-speed driving. In this gear, the transmission remains in 1st gear.
I've been driving automatic transmission cars for over a decade, with D (Drive) being my primary gear. I use it for daily commutes in traffic jams or highway cruising. When encountering steep slopes or long descents, I switch to lower gears: for example, 1st gear keeps the car in first gear only, where engine braking provides excellent anti-skid performance; 2nd gear shifts between first and second gears, ideal for continuous turns or snowy roads; 3rd gear stays within third gear, offering stronger power for hill starts or towing. Remember not to force shift into 1st gear when speed exceeds 50km/h to avoid damaging the transmission, and avoid unnecessary use of 1-2-3 gears on flat roads to prevent increased fuel consumption. Proper gear shifting protects the braking system and extends vehicle lifespan—always ease off the throttle and shift gradually to prevent jerking. Beginners should start by studying the manual, prioritizing safety above all.
