How to Use the Cruise Control on MG6?

The cruise control of MG6 is operated via the stalk switch located at the lower left side of the steering wheel. When the cruise control system is in standby mode, press the "Set" button at the end of the stalk switch, and the indicator light on the instrument panel will turn green, indicating the cruise system is activated. Relevant instructions are as follows: 1. The MG6 cruise control is operated through the stalk switch on the lower left side of the steering wheel. To adjust the target cruising speed, push the stalk switch upward and hold it, and the vehicle will accelerate automatically. Release the switch immediately when the desired speed is reached; pushing the stalk switch downward will decelerate the vehicle. Additionally, you can gradually increase or decrease the set speed by flicking the stalk switch and releasing it immediately. Each flick of the stalk switch will increase or decrease the speed by approximately 1 km/h. While the cruise control system is active, pressing the accelerator pedal normally can still accelerate the vehicle. Upon releasing the accelerator pedal, the speed will return to the set cruising speed. 2. The cruise system will automatically exit to standby mode under the following conditions: the stalk switch is moved to the "Cancel" position; the brake pedal is pressed; the gear of an automatic transmission model is shifted to P, R, or N; poor road conditions trigger the dynamic stability control system for safety reasons; or when the slope is too steep, causing excessive speed reduction, the cruise system will also pause automatically.
As a new owner of the MG6, I was a bit nervous the first time I used the cruise control. First, start the car and get on the highway, stabilize the speed above 60km/h, then press the CRUISE button on the steering wheel to activate the system, and press the SET minus button to set the target speed. Once cruising starts, release the accelerator, and the car will drive itself. If you need to adjust the speed, simply use the plus or minus buttons on the steering wheel—it's very convenient. To cancel, lightly tap the brake or press the CANCEL button to exit immediately. Personally, I find it super easy to use, but I recommend beginners read the manual beforehand to ensure familiarity with the button locations, especially to prevent unintended acceleration on downhill slopes. It’s best to practice on open roads first. Using cruise control can also reduce fatigue during long drives, making road trips more comfortable.
I've been driving for ten years, and the cruise control on my MG6 is very user-friendly. First, accelerate to at least 30km/h, then press the cruise activation button. After hearing the prompt tone, press the SET button to lock the current speed, after which you can release the accelerator. While driving, you can fine-tune the speed using the +/- buttons, with each press adjusting the speed by 1-2km/h. Remember not to use it in heavy traffic to avoid accidental operation; in case of emergencies, simply stepping on the brake will automatically deactivate it. The system also supports a memory function, making it ideal for long highway trips to save on fuel. Regularly check the system's wiring to prevent aging issues, which can extend its lifespan—safety always comes first.
