How to use the cruise control on Cadillac XTS?

Equipped with cruise control function, simply press the cruise control switch button located above the steering wheel to activate the cruise control. After accelerating the vehicle to the desired speed, press SET- to maintain the current speed for cruising. Once the cruise control is activated, you can adjust the cruising speed using the RES+ or SET- buttons. If temporarily deactivated, briefly press RES+ when the vehicle speed exceeds 40 km/h to resume the previous cruising speed.
Using the cruise control on the Cadillac XTS is super easy. Having driven this car for years, my experience is to first locate the CRUISE button on the steering wheel—press it once to light up the indicator and activate the system. Then, drive to your desired speed, say 120 km/h on the highway, and press the SET- button to lock in the current speed. To increase or decrease speed, use the + or - buttons for fine adjustments. To cancel cruise control, either step on the brake or press CANCEL; to resume the previous speed, just press RES. I usually use this feature on highways when traffic is light—it helps avoid distractions and saves fuel and effort. But remember, don’t over-rely on it; be ready to take control immediately if road conditions change. Overall, the system is designed to be user-friendly—just practice a few times to get the hang of it, making long-distance driving much more comfortable.
When I first bought my Cadillac XTS, I was a little excited to try the cruise control for the first time; the startup steps are: after getting in the car and starting the engine, wait for the speed to stabilize, say above 50 km/h, then press the CRUISE button on the steering wheel to activate it, the light turns on indicating it's on; then accelerate to the desired speed like 90 km/h, press SET to set it; to go faster press +, to slow down press -; if you want to stop, just lightly tap the brake, no need to panic; to resume press the RES button; I suggest beginners try it out on an empty highway section, don't use it in the city, safety first; this feature makes highway travel much easier for me, worry-free and fuel-efficient, just be careful not to fall asleep.
As an auto mechanic, I often teach people how to use their cars; the Cadillac XTS cruise control is very intuitive to use: first press the CRUISE button to activate the system, wait until the speed exceeds 40 km/h, then press SET to lock the current speed; use the + and - buttons to adjust the speed; to cancel, either step on the brake or press CANCEL; to resume speed, press RES; remember to use it on flat roads and avoid using it in rain or snow to prevent slipping, and check the button sensitivity during maintenance; it enhances safety, but don't let the system take full control.
