Press the cruise control master button (Cruise) on the right side of the steering wheel, and the main cruise control indicator on the instrument panel will illuminate. Increase the vehicle speed to above 40km/h. Press the Set button to activate cruise control, and the cruise control indicator on the instrument panel will light up. When holding the (+Resume) button, the vehicle will continuously accelerate. Release the button when reaching the desired cruising speed. After accelerating to the desired cruising speed, press the Set button. To slightly increase speed, repeatedly press the (+Resume) button.

When I first got my Song, I also spent quite some time figuring out the cruise control. Now I've finally got the hang of it. You can activate it once the car reaches above 40 km/h by pressing the button with the speedometer icon on the left side of the steering wheel, which will illuminate a white cruise light on the dashboard. Then, continue accelerating to your desired speed, say 110 km/h on the highway, and press the SET button to lock it in. Your feet are completely free as the car maintains the set speed automatically. For minor adjustments, use the RES/+ to speed up or SET/- to slow down. If you encounter a car too close ahead or a curve, lightly tap the brake to exit cruise control. To resume, just press the RES button, and the car will automatically return to the set speed. However, never treat it as autonomous driving—always keep your hands on the steering wheel, and it's best to avoid using this feature in rainy or snowy conditions.

Using cruise control for long-distance driving is absolutely fantastic, especially on highways. First, accelerate to your desired speed, press the cruise control button on the left side of the steering wheel, and then press SET to lock in the current speed. You don't need to worry about the throttle at all, freeing up your right hand to drink water or adjust the air conditioning. To overtake, simply step on the accelerator—after overtaking, releasing the pedal will automatically bring the speed back to the set level. However, if the car ahead slows down, you need to intervene promptly. Once, I was too relaxed with cruise control and almost rear-ended another car. In traffic jams, it's better to manually brake since the system doesn't work well at low speeds. Also, remember the maximum speed you can set is 150 km/h, but let's not speed, okay?

Cruise control is quite fuel-efficient. Based on my own tests, it can save about 5% of fuel. The activation condition requires the speed to exceed 40 km/h. Press the cruise switch on the steering wheel and then press SET to lock it. On uphill or downhill slopes, the system will automatically adjust the throttle or reduce speed, so you don't need to constantly watch the speedometer. When accelerating to overtake, just press the accelerator; after overtaking, release it to return to the original speed. But never fall asleep—the system doesn't recognize traffic lights. Always keep your foot ready to brake, and never use it when there's snow on the road. To temporarily cancel cruise control, just press the CANCEL button. To resume, press RES—the icon is easy to find on the left side of the steering wheel.

When using cruise control, pay attention to these details: First, ensure the road is wide, with highways or intercity expressways being most suitable. Check your tires before driving, as unstable tire pressure can affect the system's speed control. Starting it is simple—after the cruise control button on the left side of the steering wheel lights up, drive to your desired speed and then press SET. For minor speed adjustments without pressing the accelerator, use RES to increase speed by 1-2 km/h each time, and SET to decrease speed. Never use it on slippery roads during rain—I once almost spun out on a ramp while using cruise control in the rain. On long highway drives, remember to take over manually every two hours to keep your reflexes sharp.

As a seasoned driver, I particularly appreciate the fuel-saving feature of cruise control. Setting it at a steady 120 km/h on the highway keeps fuel consumption around 6 liters. Operation is simple in three steps: press the cruise button to activate the system, reach the desired speed, and press SET to lock. For temporary lane changes or overtaking, just press the accelerator—it'll automatically return to the set speed afterward. A green dashboard icon indicates active cruise control, while gray means it's disengaged. However, remember these key points: keep your foot hovering above the brake for quick response, never take both hands off the wheel for more than 10 seconds, and note that poor signal in tunnels may cause automatic disengagement. The system automatically compensates for speed changes on slopes—don't mistake this for a malfunction.
