How to Use the Cruise Control in Audi Q2L?

Cruise control, also known as speed control system or autonomous driving system, functions by maintaining the vehicle's speed as set by the driver without the need to press the accelerator pedal, allowing the car to travel at a constant speed. The cruise control switch in the Audi Q2L is located on the lower left side of the steering wheel. The usage methods are as follows: 1. Turning off and resuming cruise control: Gently push the lever inward to cancel cruise control, or push it all the way to the bottom to turn off cruise control. 2. Setting speed limit: Press the LIM button to set a speed limit, primarily to prevent unintentional speeding during high-speed driving. 3. Speed adjustment: The SPEED button is for speed adjustment; lift it upward to increase speed and push it downward to decrease speed. 4. Distance adjustment: The following distance adjustment switch can be pushed upward (or downward) to increase (or decrease) the distance.
When I first got my Q2L, I also spent quite some time figuring out the cruise control. See that row of buttons on the left side of the steering wheel? First, press the CRUISE button with the speedometer icon, and a white cruise symbol will appear on the dashboard, indicating it's activated. Once you reach your desired speed, push the SET button down to lock it in. It's super convenient on highways—no need to keep your foot on the accelerator. If you need a temporary speed boost, just press the accelerator; releasing it will automatically return to the set speed. Lightly tapping the brake or pressing the CNCL button cancels the cruise, and pulling the RES button toward you resumes the last set speed. However, I avoid using this feature in rainy or foggy conditions—wet roads feel safer under manual control.
As someone who frequently drives long distances, the Q2L's cruise control is a blessing on the highway. Locate the button with the speed symbol in the left thumb area, and a white cruise icon will appear on the dashboard when activated. When the speed is steady, push the left stalk on the steering column down to the SET position to lock the current speed. During overtaking, press the accelerator as usual, and the speed will automatically return after releasing it. Press the CNCL button at the top of the stalk or lightly tap the brake to deactivate before exiting the ramp. It's particularly fuel-efficient when used in tunnels with light traffic, but in heavy traffic, it's best not to rely on it—keep your foot near the brake, ready to take over.
