Q2L cruise control function usage method is: 1. Gently push the lever inward to cancel, push all the way to turn off; 2. Press the set button, adjust the speed to above 30km/h to activate; 3. The speed button is the speed adjustment key, push up or down to increase or decrease speed; 4. The distance button is the following distance adjustment switch, push up or down to increase or decrease distance. Taking the 2021 Audi Q2L Progressive Dynamic model as an example, it belongs to the small SUV category, with body dimensions of: length 4236mm, width 1785mm, height 1548mm, and a wheelbase of 2628mm.

I've been driving an Q2L for two years, and the cruise control feature is especially effortless on the highway. On the left side of the steering wheel, there's a set of buttons. First, press the switch with the speedometer icon to activate the system. Wait until a white cruise symbol appears on the dashboard, then accelerate to your desired speed, say 80 km/h, and press the SET button to lock it in. At this point, you can take your foot off the accelerator, and the car will maintain the speed on its own. To adjust the speed, press the RES/+ button to accelerate or the SET/- button to decelerate, with each press changing the speed by 1 km. If the car ahead slows down or you want to change lanes, lightly tap the brake to temporarily cancel the cruise control. When the road conditions improve, press the RES button to automatically resume the previous setting. Note: Avoid using cruise control on rainy days or winding roads; it's safer to control the car manually when visibility is poor.

The cruise control operation of the Q2L is quite straightforward. After starting the vehicle, press the cruise button with an arrow on the left side of the steering wheel, and the dashboard indicator light will illuminate to indicate readiness. When the speed exceeds 30 km/h, drive to the desired speed and press the SET button, and the system will take over the throttle. I prefer using short presses on the RES button to increase speed by one kilometer at a time, while a long press will continuously accelerate until the desired speed is reached. The most practical feature is the temporary interruption function: lightly tap the brake or press the CANCEL button to pause the cruise. To resume, there's no need to reset the speed—just press RES to return to the previously set speed. However, it's advisable to turn it off in tunnels or congested areas to avoid sudden deceleration risks.

The adaptive cruise control works quite well on the Q2L. On the left steering wheel shortcut cluster, press the main switch with the speedometer symbol at the top to activate it, and a cruise icon will appear on the instrument panel. Accelerate to your desired speed and press SET to lock it in, like setting it to 100 km/h on the highway. After that, use the +/- buttons to fine-tune the speed, saving you from constantly pressing the accelerator. To temporarily cancel it, just hit the brakes, and press RES to resume. It's recommended to use this feature on highways; it's not very practical in the city with frequent traffic lights. Remember, the system only maintains speed and doesn't automatically brake, so you'll need to manually control the safe distance from the car ahead.

Operating the Q2L's cruise control involves three steps: First, press the main cruise control switch on the left side of the steering wheel, which has an icon resembling a dashboard. Then, accelerate the car to your desired speed. Finally, press the SET button to lock it in. Upon successful activation, you'll feel a slight rebound in the accelerator pedal, and a green cruise light will appear on the instrument panel. Use the RES button to increase speed by 1 km/h each time, while the SET button decreases speed. To temporarily cancel, lightly tap the brake. A practical tip: On long downhill slopes, you can turn off cruise control to coast and save fuel, then press RES to resume your speed on flat ground. Remember, this feature is only suitable for straight roads—always take manual control before entering curves.

The Q2L's cruise control system actually has two modes: first, the standard speed cruise control, activated by pressing the steering wheel's left-hand button with a pointer icon, which maintains the set speed automatically; second, the LIM speed limit function, activated by pressing the adjacent LIM button to set a maximum speed limit, ideal for preventing speeding in urban areas. When using cruise control, the SET button not only confirms the speed but can also be pressed while driving to decrease the set value. The RES resume button is particularly convenient—for example, pressing it after overtaking immediately returns to the original speed. However, once the system is activated, be mindful of the braking reaction distance. In rainy or foggy conditions, I prefer to turn it off and rely on manual control for peace of mind.
