How to Use the Camry Electric Parking Brake?

The method to use the Camry electric parking brake is as follows: Press the brake pedal and pull the electronic parking brake switch upward until the indicator light on the dashboard lights up, and the indicator light on the parking brake switch will also illuminate. When the driver needs to park, simply press the brake pedal to bring the vehicle to a complete stop, shift the gear into P (Park), and then press the electric parking brake button. To restart, shift the gear into D (Drive), and the electric parking brake will automatically release when the accelerator is pressed. Alternatively, press the brake pedal and push the electric parking brake switch to release the brake. In terms of body dimensions, the Camry measures 4885mm in length, 1840mm in width, and 1455mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2825mm. The front track is 1595mm, and the rear track is 1605mm. The body structure is a 4-door, 5-seater sedan.
I used to drive a Camry, and the electric parking brake was super simple and easy to use. After parking, on the left side of the driver's seat, you'll see a button marked 'P' or with a parking brake icon. Gently pull it upward to lock it, and the car will stay firmly in place. When driving, first press the brake pedal, then push the button downward and release it. If the vehicle has an auto-release function, lightly tapping the accelerator will automatically disengage it. This system comes with autohold, making hill starts worry-free and preventing rollback risks. It's recommended to regularly check if the button is responsive and avoid accidental operation during high-speed driving to prevent wear on the brake system. Low battery or humid environments might affect performance, so keeping the button clean is sufficient. Remember, it replaces the traditional handbrake lever, saving a lot of effort. For daily commuters like me, it's definitely a plus.
