How to Use the Auto Start-Stop (AOFF) Function in Cars?

When the vehicle stops moving due to traffic congestion or at an intersection, the driver should press the brake pedal, come to a complete stop, and shift to neutral. The Start/Stop system automatically checks: the engine is idling and not in gear; the wheel speed sensor shows zero; the vehicle has sufficient battery power. Once these three conditions are met, the engine will automatically stop. When the traffic light turns green, the driver can press the clutch pedal to immediately activate the AOFF function.
The A OFF button in cars is actually the switch for the auto start-stop function! This feature automatically activates every time you start the car. When you brake at a red light, the engine shuts off to save fuel and reduce emissions. However, some drivers find the restarting motion uncomfortable or worry about potential issues when driving through water in rainy conditions. In such cases, pressing the button on the center console with the letter A inside a circle can completely deactivate it. Personally, I prefer to toggle it flexibly based on road conditions – keeping it on during congested commutes saves a lot on fuel costs, while turning it off on highways helps reduce wear and tear. Remember, if you choose to keep it off long-term, you'll need to manually disable it every time you start the car!
