How to Use Rain Repellent?

The method of using rain repellent is to spray it on the front windshield or rearview mirror of the car. When rain falls on the glass, it forms water droplets that, upon reaching a certain size, will slide down the glass due to gravity. It also has an anti-fog effect. When the car reaches a certain speed, the water droplets on the glass will move upward due to the wind. Car glass is produced by heating the glass in a furnace to near its softening temperature, then quickly transferring it to air grids with varying cooling intensities for uneven cooling. This process creates different stresses between the main viewing area and the peripheral areas of the glass. Generally, glass produced this way is zone-tempered glass.
I usually work on my car myself. The first step in using a rain repellent is to thoroughly clean the windshield. Use some glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth to repeatedly wipe off grease and dust. After cleaning, make sure the glass is completely dry, then take the rain repellent and apply it thinly and evenly. You can use a small sponge or a soft cloth to cover the entire surface. After applying, wait about 10 minutes for it to solidify and harden, then use a dry cloth to quickly polish and shine it. Once done, it's best to test it on a sunny day—rainwater will just slide right off. I make it a habit to apply it every few months to prevent the wipers from overworking, and I also check the product's expiration date to avoid using an expired one. Wear gloves to avoid skin irritation, and avoid spraying on the wiper rubber parts to prevent damage. The whole process is pretty quick, and keeping the glass clear can greatly improve driving safety.
