How to Use Quick Couplers for Excavators?

Mechanical quick couplers and hydraulic quick couplers; mechanical quick couplers can be used without modifying the excavator's pipelines and hydraulic system. Hydraulic quick couplers require modifications to the excavator's pipelines and hydraulic system to meet the demand for automatic attachment changing.
Changing quick couplers is really simple. I usually park the excavator on level ground first and place the bucket to be removed on the ground. Press the hydraulic release button next to the operator's seat to loosen the coupler claws, then slightly lift the arm to detach the bucket. When installing new attachments, align the pin holes slowly - you'll hear a click when it's properly locked. Always remember to shake the attachment a few times after locking to test stability. Once I didn't check properly and the bucket suddenly fell during operation, nearly hitting someone. Regularly grease the coupler joints and clean off mud with a wire brush to prevent rust jamming, which causes bigger problems.
I've been using quick couplers to change attachments for five years, and the most crucial part is aligning the pin holes. Start by leveling the old bucket with the excavator, then switch the hydraulic valve to the unlock position—check the dashboard, and when the indicator turns green, it's unlocked. Adjust the angle by moving the boom and arm. Beginners are advised to step down and visually align before locking. Every week, I disassemble the coupler to clean out grease buildup, paying special attention to check for wear on the springs and steel balls. Last time I switched to a breaker, the steel balls were worn flat and couldn't lock, resulting in damaged hydraulic lines and three days of unnecessary repairs. After summer operations, it's essential to wipe off sweat stains promptly to prevent rust.
