How to Use Paddle Shifters?

Press the car's brake pedal all the way down until it can't be pressed any further. Press the car's one-touch start button to start the engine and let it idle. Place the car's automatic gear lever in the D position to enter automatic mode. Pull the plus paddle shifter on the right side of the steering wheel once to upshift by one gear. Pull the minus paddle shifter on the left side of the steering wheel once to downshift by one gear.
The paddle shifters are actually quite convenient. My car has two small paddles behind the steering wheel. The one on the right, marked with a plus sign or '+', is for upshifting, while the one on the left with a minus sign is for downshifting. When driving on a long downhill or overtaking, you don't need to take your hands off the wheel—just a flick of your finger to downshift and increase traction or raise the RPMs, and the power comes on instantly. Just switch the automatic transmission to manual mode to activate the paddles, and after overtaking, gently push the gear lever back to 'D' to return to full automatic mode. When you first start using them, remember to keep an eye on the tachometer to avoid revving the engine too high.
