When overtaking, first activate the left turn signal, then use the right turn signal after completing the maneuver. Activate the left turn signal when entering a highway. Exits are always to the right. No signal is needed when entering a roundabout, but the right turn signal must be used when exiting.
On the left side behind the steering wheel, there is a lever that can be moved up and down—that's the turn signal control stalk. Before turning the steering wheel, remember to activate the signal 3 seconds in advance: gently push the lever upward when preparing to turn right, and a green right-pointing arrow will illuminate on the dashboard; to turn left, pull the lever downward, and the left arrow will flash. After completing the turn, the lever will automatically return to the middle position, turning off the signal. Operating the turn signals is actually quite simple, just use the slender control lever on the left side of the steering wheel. Think of the lever as a clock hand: pushing it upward to the 12 o'clock position activates the right turn signal, while pressing it downward to the 6 o'clock position activates the left turn signal. Based on my observations, many beginners often make three mistakes: forgetting to turn off the signal after use, causing it to stay on; signaling without checking the rearview mirror when changing lanes; and failing to turn on fog lights in rainy or foggy conditions, which reduces the visibility of the turn signals. In fact, the flashing frequency of turn signals is also important—normally 60-120 times per minute. An abnormal frequency indicates that the bulb needs replacement.
