How to Use Ford's Cruise Control System?

Start the vehicle's cruise control by sliding switch A to the ON position to activate the speed control system. First, accelerate the car to the desired speed, press and release the SET+ button, then release the accelerator pedal. Press the accelerator or brake pedal until the desired speed is reached. Hold SET+ or SET- to adjust the set speed in increments of approximately 1 km/h. To completely turn off the cruise control system, slide the switch to the OFF position, or turn off the ignition when the car is stationary, and the system will be fully deactivated.
I've driven Fords and Buicks for over a decade, using the cruise control system daily and finding it very convenient. The usage method is to first press the cruise control button on the steering wheel to activate it—the light indicates it's on. Then accelerate to your desired constant speed, say 70 km/h, and press the SET button to lock the speed. At this point, the car maintains speed on its own, no need to press the accelerator, making driving much more relaxed. To adjust the speed, press RESUME to increase or decrease by a few km/h. To pause, lightly tap the brake or press the CANCEL button to immediately deactivate. I mainly use it on highways for long trips—it saves effort and fuel—but never in the city or during rain, as it's unsafe. Ford's button design is ergonomic, and the RESUME button can restore the last set speed, which is super practical. Remember, cruise control is just an aid—keep hands on the wheel and stay alert to road conditions at all times.
I believe safe driving is the most important, so I use the cruise control system with extra caution. The method is simple: press the ON/OFF button to activate cruise mode, accelerate to the desired speed, then press SET to store it. After that, the system takes over the throttle, allowing you to relax your legs slightly. But remember to keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road—it can't automatically handle highway exits or congested areas, so you must brake immediately to deactivate. The Ford system performs steadily on flat roads, but it may accelerate downhill, requiring manual deceleration. I recommend beginners practice in open areas first, familiarize themselves with the cancel button location, and avoid over-relying on the technology. When driving my Ford, I only use it on straight highways and turn it off in complex curves. These habits ensure peace of mind on every drive.
