How to Use ETC on Highways?

Method for using ETC on highways: Simply enter through the ETC lane and exit via the ETC lane. ETC, or Electronic Toll Collection, is a system that allows vehicles to pass through toll stations without stopping for payment. Once the ETC system is installed in the vehicle, the owner can drive on highways without stopping for toll collection, as the ETC device in the vehicle is linked to a bank card for automatic deduction. ETC, also known as Automatic Road Toll System, is a specialized road toll method used for toll roads, commonly found on highways, toll bridges or tunnels, and certain urban road sections to alleviate traffic congestion in cities.
As a veteran truck driver with over 20 years of experience, let me tell you that passing through ETC is actually very simple. About 200-300 meters before entering the toll station, change to the ETC-exclusive lane in advance and reduce your speed steadily below 20 km/h. The most crucial thing is to keep an eye on the small device on the front of your vehicle—the OBU device should show that the debit card or stored-value card is functioning normally. About 10 meters away from the barrier, the sensing area will emit a 'beep' sound. The moment the barrier lifts, don’t hesitate—pass through at a steady speed without sudden braking. If the barrier doesn’t lift, first check if the device shows a red light. If not, reverse about five meters and try again—never force your way through the barrier. Also, remember to check the device’s battery every two to three months, and if the adhesive loosens, promptly reposition it in the center of the windshield.
