The usage method of cruise control on the Verano is as follows: 1. When the vehicle speed reaches above 40 km/h, press the cruise control button. 2. Press the set button to adjust the speed. 3. Press the set button again to activate the cruise function. Precautions for using cruise control on the Buick Verano: 1. Stepping on the brake will deactivate cruise control. The speed value won't be cleared, allowing you to resume the previously set speed for continued cruising. 2. In complex road conditions or under adverse weather conditions, activating cruise control may be dangerous. Please turn off cruise control and drive manually. 3. On downhill sections, the vehicle may accelerate quickly. You should apply the brakes to control the speed to prevent loss of control and potential accidents.

Using cruise control is actually quite simple. First, I drive to the desired speed, such as around 100 km/h on the highway, then press the cruise button on the left side of the steering wheel to activate the function. Next, pressing the SET button locks the current speed, allowing me to take my foot off the accelerator pedal. To increase speed, press the RES+ button a few times, each press adding about 1 km/h; to decrease speed, press the SET- button. In case of emergencies, simply step on the brake or press the CANCEL button to exit. To resume the previously set speed, just press the RES button again. However, it's worth noting that manual driving is safer in rainy, snowy weather or on winding mountain roads since cruise control only manages speed, not direction. This feature is indeed a great relief for long highway drives.

The cruise control operation on my Verano is very user-friendly. First, activate the system above 60km/h by pressing the button with the speedometer icon on the left side of the steering wheel. Wait until the white cruise light on the dashboard illuminates, then reach your desired speed and press the SET button to lock it in. At this point, your right foot is free. For fine speed adjustments, use your thumb to control the RES/+ button to accelerate and the SET/- button to decelerate. If a car ahead changes lanes or you need to exit the ramp, gently tap the brake to automatically disengage. To resume the previously set speed when back on the road, simply hit the RES button. Also, note that during cruise control, speed may drop by a few kilometers on long uphill slopes, which is normal. It's recommended not to use this feature in the city; manual control is more flexible and reliable in heavy traffic.

The operation process consists of three steps: activating the system - setting the speed - function control. When the vehicle speed exceeds 40km/h, press the main cruise button on the left side of the steering wheel to activate the function. After accelerating to the target speed, press the SET button to fix the speed. Use the +/- buttons to fine-tune the cruise speed in 1km/h increments. There are two ways to cancel: the brake pedal and the CANCEL button, with the latter preserving the set speed. When resuming cruise, first ensure the road conditions are safe before pressing the RES button. Special reminder: it is recommended to lower the cruise speed by 5-10km/h at night to maintain emergency reaction time. Before entering the highway, it's best to practice the button operations a few times in an open area to avoid confusion during actual use.

Cruise control is most practical on highways. After starting the car, press the CRUISE button to activate the system, and an indicator light will illuminate on the dashboard. Once the desired speed is reached, press SET to lock it in, making driving more effortless. Each press of the speed adjustment button changes the speed by 1 km/h, while holding it for five seconds allows for a 5 km/h jump adjustment. To deactivate the function, simply tap the brake, and to resume, press the RES button to return to the original speed. However, there are three key points to note: cruise control automatically disengages when speed drops below 40 km/h, sharp turns may cause speed fluctuations, and manual driving is recommended during heavy rain due to slippery road conditions. I always use this feature on long trips, and when combined with lane keeping, it effectively reduces driving fatigue. But don’t over- on the system—never take your hands off the steering wheel.

As a family car frequently used for long-distance trips, cruise control is my go-to feature for effortless driving. To operate, first ensure the speed is above 60km/h, then press the cruise button on the left to activate. Once the desired speed is reached, press the SET button to lock it in, freeing your right foot for a more comfortable ride. Use the RES+ button to increase speed and alleviate slow-moving traffic frustrations, while the SET- button helps reduce speed in response to traffic flow. To temporarily deactivate, besides stepping on the brake, pressing the CANCEL button with an X symbol on the left is equally effective. The RES button offers a convenient way to resume your set speed when needed. It's advisable to maintain a greater following distance during highway cruising, as the system's response isn't as quick as human reflexes. Additionally, be cautious of automatic speed increases on long descents; switching to manual mode may be necessary to ensure safety.
