How to Use Cruise Control in the Passat?
2 Answers
The method to use cruise control in the Passat is: Slide the button on the cruise control lever to the left to the ON position, then accelerate or control the speed to maintain the desired speed. Press the SET button at the top of the lever, and at this point, release the accelerator pedal to find the car moving forward automatically. In case of dangerous situations, promptly apply the brakes to reduce speed, ensuring the cruise control is automatically deactivated. Without pressing the accelerator, the speed will decrease on its own. In terms of body dimensions, the Passat measures 4933mm in length, 1836mm in width, and 1469mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2871mm. Power-wise, it is equipped with a 1.4T turbocharged engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The Passat's cruise control is quite convenient to operate. I usually use it when driving on highways, which saves a lot of effort. After starting the car and reaching the desired speed, such as above 60 km/h, locate the control buttons on the left side of the steering wheel. There's a CRUISE or similar button in the middle—press it first to activate the system. At this point, the dashboard will display the cruise control icon in standby mode. Once you reach the target speed, say 80 km/h, press the SET button to save the current speed, and the car will automatically maintain it. To fine-tune the speed, press the + button to increase or the - button to decrease. Canceling the cruise is flexible—just lightly tap the brake or press the cancel button. After using it for a while, it feels quite intelligent, especially helpful for relaxing your feet during long drives and avoiding fatigue-related driving issues. Remember to use it only in stable road conditions and avoid it in congested city traffic.
