How to Use Cruise Control in the Old Lavida?
2 Answers
When the vehicle speed exceeds 40 km/h, turn on the cruise switch and press the deceleration button. Below are the detailed instructions: 1. Activating the Cruise Control System Slide the switch to the "ON" position to activate the speed control system. Setting the Cruise Speed After activation, when the car reaches the desired speed, press the "SET" button to maintain this speed continuously. 2. After setting the cruise speed, you can still accelerate using the accelerator pedal as usual. Upon releasing the pedal, the system will restore the vehicle to the preset cruise speed. 3. If the speed exceeds the cruise speed by more than 10 km/h and maintains this speed for over 5 minutes, the cruise speed must be reset. 4. Reducing Cruise Speed Press the "SET" button to decrease speed by 1.5 km/h; holding the button will continuously reduce speed. Once released, the current speed will be stored in memory.
When driving my old Lavida, using the cruise control is quite straightforward. First, start the car and accelerate to over 40 km/h, then press and hold the cruise control button on the left side of the steering wheel to activate the system—an icon will appear on the dashboard. Next, use the ‘SET’ button to lock in the current speed, making driving much more relaxed. To increase speed, press the ‘+’ button, and to decrease speed, press the ‘-’ button, or simply tap the brake to temporarily deactivate cruise control. Pressing the ‘RES’ button will resume the previously set speed. It’s especially great for highway driving, as it saves effort and fuel by eliminating the need to constantly press the accelerator. However, remember to manually take control during curves or heavy traffic—safety comes first. Also, periodically check if the buttons respond well, as older cars may develop poor contact issues. This ensures smooth cruise control operation, making your journey comfortable and efficient.
