How to Use Car Lights?

Some vehicle models feature automatic adjustment for headlight height. Adjust the height by turning the corresponding adjustment knob located behind the headlight. Park the car 7.6 meters away from a wall and adjust based on the light position on the wall. The headlight height adjustment switch uses a roller wheel marked with numerical gears. The higher the number, the higher the headlight beam position.
When I first started driving, I also couldn't figure out those icons on the light knob. You see that lever on the left side of the steering wheel? Turn the top knob one click for parking lights (position lights), two clicks for low beams. Push forward for high beams - a blue indicator will show on the dashboard; pull back to flash your high beams. For foggy conditions, use the separate fog light button on the center console - never turn on hazard lights randomly. Important reminder: Always switch back to low beams when meeting oncoming traffic at night. Last year on a mountain road, I was nearly blinded by opposing high beams and almost hit the guardrail. Turn on your lights a few seconds before entering tunnels, and remember to turn them off when exiting, or the police might want to have a word. Nowadays new cars have automatic headlights, but don't rely on them too much - in heavy rain, it's more reliable to manually turn on fog lights.
