The principles for using car lights are as follows: 1. Use low beams when driving on roads with streetlights at night; 2. Use low beams when encountering pedestrians on the roadside at night; 3. Use low beams on narrow roads, narrow bridges, and curves; 4. Use high beams when there are no streetlights on the roadside or when the road is straight and visibility is poor in the distance. The high beam is activated by rotating the low beam button forward one notch; 5. When encountering an oncoming vehicle at night, if you have the high beams on, turn them off until the oncoming vehicle has passed, then turn them back on. If you fail to turn them off in time, the other driver may be dazzled by the light, leading to errors in driving and potential accidents. Turning off high beams during oncoming traffic is also a standard of courteous driving.
