Using CarPlay in a BMW is super convenient. I remember being a little excited the first time I connected it, but the process was simple. Have your iPhone ready and ensure the iOS version is up to date, preferably the latest. Once in the car, turn on Bluetooth on your phone, navigate to the ‘ConnectedDrive’ or ‘Mobile Devices’ option in the BMW’s iDrive system, tap ‘Add New Device,’ and select CarPlay. Your phone will pop up a confirmation window for the connection—pair it, and you’re good to go. While driving, I love using Siri to control music and navigation—just say ‘Hey Siri’ to play songs or get directions without taking your eyes off the road. Remember, wireless CarPlay in a BMW drains battery quickly, so it’s good to have a car charger for long trips. If you encounter connection issues, try restarting your phone or the car’s system. With CarPlay, navigation is more accurate, and streaming Spotify is smooth—the BMW system is quite stable. Now that I’m used to it, I use it daily for commuting, avoiding the need to check maps on my phone, which is much safer.
