How to Use Auto Start-Stop in Automatic Transmission Cars?

To use the auto start-stop feature in an automatic transmission car, simply press the auto start-stop switch located next to the gear shift. To deactivate it, long-press the auto start-stop switch until the OFF light illuminates. The auto start-stop system automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a temporary stop during driving and restarts it when you need to proceed. The working principle of auto start-stop is: 1. The engine is idling and not in gear; 2. The wheel speed sensors of the anti-lock system show zero; 3. The battery sensor indicates sufficient energy for the next start. When these conditions are met, the engine automatically stops. The driver can then press the accelerator to activate the starter and quickly restart the engine.
The auto start-stop function in my automatic transmission car is a great helper for saving fuel and being eco-friendly. After starting the engine, the system usually activates automatically, indicated by a small green light on the dashboard. When stopping at red lights or in traffic jams, firmly pressing the brake automatically shuts off the engine, and releasing the brake or shifting gears instantly restarts it—no manual operation needed. This has saved me a lot on fuel costs; driving in the city, I can save around a hundred yuan a month on gas. However, I sometimes turn it off manually, like when parking on a slope to prevent rolling back, or when the AC is on high to avoid interrupted cooling during restarts. The car's AGM battery also needs to be in good condition to support frequent start-stop cycles. Overall, it's very convenient, and once you get used to it, driving becomes greener.
