How to Use Auto Hold?

How to use Auto Hold: The Auto Hold function is not enabled by default and needs to be manually activated by the driver. For example, when waiting at a traffic light or needing to make a brief stop, pressing the Auto Hold button in the car will activate the function. At this time, the driver does not need to press the brake pedal or pull the handbrake, as the system will automatically brake the vehicle. The system will automatically release when the accelerator pedal is pressed. Functions of Auto Hold: 1. During hill starts, the system will automatically brake to prevent rolling backward. After starting, the system will automatically release the wheels to move forward directly. 2. When parking and locking the car, there is no need to pull the handbrake, as the system will automatically brake the wheels, but this feature is only available in some models.
The auto hold feature is quite handy to use, and I always like to turn it on when driving. Generally, there's a dedicated control button for it, usually located near the central console or steering wheel, marked with an "A" or "AUTO HOLD" icon. After starting the car, press it once, and it will light up, indicating activation. When stopping at a red light or in traffic, it automatically holds the brakes for you, so you don't have to keep pressing the foot brake—your foot can relax for a while. When you press the accelerator to speed up, it automatically releases, allowing the car to start smoothly. This feature is most useful in city traffic, reducing foot fatigue and preventing rollback. However, don't fully rely on it on steep slopes, as it might not hold well on very steep inclines—for safety, it's best to develop a habit of manual assistance. Additionally, beginners might accidentally press the button and forget to turn it off, leading to delayed starts while driving, so I recommend practicing to familiarize yourself with the car's operation logic to ensure safe and efficient driving.
