Here are the steps to use Accord cruise control: 1. The CANCEL button is for deactivating cruise control, while MAIN turns it off completely. Press RES to resume cruise control. 2. Before activating cruise control, set your desired speed using the SET button. (Note: Minimum activation speed is 30km/h) 3. The +/- buttons adjust speed values - up/down controls speed increase/decrease respectively. 4. Distance control automatically detects the gap to preceding vehicles and matches their braking. 5. Lane Keeping Assist uses cameras to identify lane markings and provides alerts when drifting occurs, enhancing driver awareness.
As a veteran driver with ten years of experience behind the wheel of an Accord, I find the cruise control incredibly convenient! It can be activated when driving at speeds above 40 km/h on highways or clear roads. Locate the button on the right side of the steering wheel with a speedometer and arrow symbol, press the CRUISE MAIN button, and the white light on the dashboard will indicate it's in standby mode. Then, accelerate to your desired speed and push the SET/- button downward to engage automatic speed maintenance—just release the accelerator pedal. To fine-tune your speed, nudge RES/+ upward to increase or SET/- downward to decrease; each tap adjusts by 1 km/h, while holding it down changes speed continuously. For overtaking, simply press the accelerator—after releasing it, the car will return to the preset speed. Braking, pressing CANCEL, or turning off the cruise main switch will disengage the system. Driving for three to four hours on the highway no longer leaves my legs sore—it's far more comfortable than my old car where I'd wear a groove into the accelerator pedal!
