Usage method of vernier caliper: 1. Wipe the measuring jaws clean with a soft cloth, close them, and check whether the zero marks on the vernier and the main scale are aligned; 2. If aligned, measurement can proceed; 3. If not aligned, record the zero error; 4. If the zero mark on the vernier is to the right of the zero mark on the main scale, it is called positive zero error; if it is to the left, it is called negative zero error. Pay attention when reading, the numbers on the main scale indicate centimeters. A vernier caliper is a measuring tool used to measure length, inner and outer diameters, and depth. It consists of a main scale and a sliding vernier attached to the main scale.
