How to Use a Retarder?
1 Answers
Retarder usage method: When the vehicle is ignited, the retarder enters standby mode. To activate deceleration, pull the manual control switch handle progressively to the desired gear (the retarder indicator light should illuminate, except for the constant-speed 1st gear where the indicator remains off). Return the handle to the 0 position to cancel the deceleration command. The retarder utilizes hydraulic damping to generate braking force, enabling vehicle deceleration. It offers high braking efficiency, allowing downhill travel at relatively high speeds. With compact dimensions and lightweight design, it can be integrated with the transmission. The system operates without wear, efficiently dissipates heat generated by the working fluid, and maintains normal engine temperature during prolonged downhill driving.
