How to Use a Differential Lock?
1 Answers
The method for using a differential lock is as follows: When the vehicle is stuck in muddy or slippery conditions, press the differential lock switch while the vehicle is at low speed or stationary, release the accelerator pedal, and steer appropriately. The illuminated indicator light indicates that the differential has been correctly engaged. The sequence for using the differential lock is: 1. First, lock the inter-wheel differential lock; 2. Then, lock the inter-axle differential lock; 3. When the vehicle is on a steep slope and climbing, only the inter-axle differential lock needs to be engaged, without locking the inter-wheel differential lock. The function of the differential lock is to enhance the vehicle's off-road capability by quickly locking the differential, turning the two drive axles into a rigid connection. This transfers most or even all of the torque to the non-slipping drive axle, utilizing its traction to generate driving force and allowing the vehicle to continue moving.
