To operate the Volkswagen wiper: Turn the wiper control switch on the right side of the steering wheel clockwise to activate the rear wiper, and counterclockwise to turn it off. Pressing the wiper control switch toward yourself activates the front wiper washer, while pushing it toward the dashboard activates the rear wiper washer. When using the wiper to remove dust from the windshield on sunny days, always spray windshield washer fluid to avoid dry wiping. If there are stubborn or hard contaminants on the glass, clean them manually, as these can easily damage the wiper blades, leading to poor wiping performance. In severe cases, the wiper motor may also be affected. During winter use, first remove ice from the windshield surface with an ice scraper to prevent overburdening the wiper.
