How to Turn on the Turn Signal on a Focus?

Before operating the lights, please start the engine first. The turn signal is controlled by the light control lever on the left side of the steering wheel. The light control knob mainly controls the width light, automatic headlights, and other lights. The details are as follows: 1. Turn signal: Push the light control lever downward to turn on the left turn signal. Lift the lever upward to turn on the right turn signal. Slightly lifting or pressing without passing the resistance point will cause the side turn signal to flash three times and then turn off. 2. High beam: After turning on the low beam, push the light control lever forward to turn on the high beam. 3. Fog light: The switch button is next to the light control knob; press it to turn the fog light on or off. 4. Automatic headlights, low beam, width light: When the light knob is in the AUTO position, the automatic headlights will turn on. Rotate the light knob to turn on the width light, low beam, and automatic headlights in sequence.
Operating the turn signals on a Ford Focus is quite simple. There's a lever on the left side of the steering wheel—gently push it upward to activate the right turn signal, and push it downward for the left turn signal. This action is very convenient, and you'll hear a soft click when operating it. Additionally, there's a blinking small arrow on the dashboard indicating the status. When driving, I always turn on the signal several dozen meters before making a turn to give other drivers a heads-up, avoiding rear-end collisions or misunderstandings. Be careful not to push too hard to prevent damaging the lever. Occasionally, check if the lights are working, and replace any burnt-out bulbs promptly. For me, this is a fundamental driving habit—once developed, it significantly enhances safety, especially when changing lanes on highways by using signals timely, cutting accident risks by half.
