How to Turn On the Rearview Mirror Heating in a Skoda?

Turn the knob clockwise two notches until the white dot aligns with the heating element symbol. When the mirror surface is mostly dry, rotate it back to the original position to avoid damage. No manual angle adjustment is needed. The electric control, typically located near the driver's seat, allows you to adjust the mirror angle with buttons. The mirrors can automatically heat up, evaporating water droplets or melting snow during rain or snowfall to ensure clear visibility.
The Skoda's mirror heating function is actually quite simple. I figured it out after trying a few times while driving. Look for the square button with three wavy lines on the climate control panel, press it to activate the heating function. It shares the same button with the rear window defogger, so pressing it once will turn on both features. Generally, it only works when the engine is running and automatically shuts off after about 15 minutes to prevent overheating. It's especially useful on rainy days as the water mist gradually disappears, significantly improving visibility. However, note that it only works effectively when the temperature is below 20°C, so pressing it in summer might not yield any response. Also, if the mirrors are too dirty, you might want to wipe them first, otherwise the heating effect could be diminished.
