How to turn on the rear wiper of the XRV?

Push the lever inward, and the windshield washer fluid will spray automatically. The default position is AUTO, and the wiper will work automatically when the vehicle senses increased rain. The rear wiper switch is turned on by rotation. Rotate the switch to OFF to turn it off, to INT for intermittent operation, and to ON for continuous operation.
Activating the rear wiper on my XR-V is incredibly straightforward. Once seated in the driver's position, grasp the stalk on the right side of the steering wheel—this typically controls all wiper functions. Gently twist it upward (toward the roof) once to engage the rear wiper; twisting it in the opposite direction switches it to intermittent mode for energy efficiency. During heavy rain, let it run continuously. Don’t forget the washer fluid: push the stalk sideways to spray and clean the rear window. I often test this feature while driving in rainy conditions because poor rear visibility increases the risk of backing into obstacles, especially when parking in urban areas where clear rearview mirror sightlines are crucial. Regularly replacing wiper blades is also essential—aged rubber leaves streaks and creates noise. I recommend quarterly inspections or following the manual’s maintenance schedule to ensure safe, hassle-free driving.
