How to Turn On the Rear Fog Lights on a Car?

To turn on the rear fog lights of a car, rotate the light stalk located on the left side of the steering wheel. In some models, the fog light switch is part of the lighting control assembly under the instrument panel and needs to be pressed to activate. Note that the rear fog lights can only be turned on when the parking lights or headlights are already illuminated. The replacement procedure for rear fog lights is as follows: 1. Open the vehicle's trunk and remove the fixing screws on both sides of the luggage compartment; 2. Loosen the fixing screws of the rear wheel fenders, then pry open the clips under the vehicle and the fasteners of the taillights; 3. After removing the rear trim panel, check for any wire connections, then remove the rear fog light trim panel; 4. Install the fog light socket onto the original trim panel and reconnect the wiring harness.
Turning on the rear fog lights is quite simple. Usually after getting in the car, you can operate it using the light control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel, where there's a knob marked with the fog light icon. First, you need to turn the light switch to the position light or low beam position, then rotate the knob to the rear fog light position. An indicator light will illuminate on the dashboard. Remember, rear fog lights should only be used in foggy or heavy rain conditions with low visibility because their red light has strong penetration, but keeping them on normally can dazzle drivers behind you. New cars all have this feature, but the location might vary - some vehicles have a separate button on the center console. Safety first! Drive slower in foggy weather and turn on lights to increase visibility. If the lights don't work, it might be due to a burnt-out bulb or blown fuse, requiring a visit to the repair shop.
