How to Turn on the Mazda Fog Lights?

The front and rear fog light switches are located on the lower left side of the steering wheel. The fog light switch is on the inner side of the control lever and is operated by rotation. Rotate the fog light switch: turn it upward once to turn on the front fog lights, and turn it twice to the rear fog light position, which will simultaneously turn on both front and rear fog lights. Conversely, rotate it back to turn them off. After turning on the parking lights, you can then turn on the fog lights. The front fog lights can be turned on individually, while the rear fog lights can only be turned on together with the front fog lights and cannot be turned on separately.
When I first bought my car, it took me a while to figure things out too. Turning on the fog lights in Mazda models is actually quite simple. Once you're seated in the driver's seat, locate the light control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel. Rotate it to turn on the headlights—either the position lights or high beams will do. Then, on the same stalk, there's a small button or ring marked with fog light symbols (front and rear). A gentle pull or press will activate the fog lights. Remember, rear fog lights are typically used in severe weather conditions—like when I drove through heavy fog on a mountain road last time, they were a lifesaver. Also, check the dashboard icon to confirm the lights are on, and avoid using them unnecessarily in clear weather to prevent drawing unwanted attention. Different Mazda models like the CX-5 or Mazda3 might have slightly varying switch positions, so if you're unsure, consulting the owner's manual is the safest bet. Nowadays, I've developed a good habit of checking the weather before driving to decide whether to use them.
