How to turn on the high beams in the Encore?

Turn the light adjuster on the left side of the steering wheel clockwise to the headlight position (this will illuminate all dashboard lights). Rotate it forward once more for low beams, then push the entire lever forward (not rotate) to activate high beams. Below are relevant instructions for light usage: 1. When driving at low speed: Use low beams when traveling below 30 km/h. Under normal conditions, the lights can illuminate beyond 30 meters. 2. When approaching intersections: Reduce speed 50 to 100 meters before the intersection, switch from high beams to low beams, and activate turn signals to indicate direction. 3. When oncoming vehicles are within 150 meters: Switch from high beams to low beams to avoid impairing the other driver's vision. If the opposing vehicle doesn't switch to low beams, immediately reduce speed and alternately flash high/low beams to signal them. 4. On well-lit roads: Use low beams when driving on well-lit roads.
I've been driving the Buick Encore for three years, and turning on the high beams is super easy. First, flip the light control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel downward to turn on the low beams—you'll see a green headlight icon light up on the dashboard. When you need high beams, just push the stalk away from the steering wheel until you hear a 'click,' and a blue high beam indicator will appear. This is especially useful for nighttime highway driving or unlit rural roads, but remember to immediately pull the stalk back to switch to low beams when approaching other vehicles. The stalk also has a spring-loaded detent in the middle—a quick pull toward you flashes the high beams to alert cars ahead, which is great for passing. If the lights respond sluggishly, check the fuse or have the control module inspected at a 4S shop.
