Citroen C5 heating activation method: 1. Start the vehicle and wait 5 to 10 minutes until the coolant temperature reaches normal operating temperature, then you can turn on the heating; 2. Adjust the air conditioning circulation mode to internal circulation; 3. Switch to the red zone heating mode. The Citroen C5 is a mid-size sedan under Dongfeng Citroen, with dimensions of 4825mm in length, 1860mm in width, and 1480mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2815mm. It is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle has a maximum horsepower of 167 hp, maximum torque of 245 Nm, and a top speed of 215 km/h.

I've been driving this Citroën C5 for five years, and to get the heater working, you need to let the engine warm up first. After starting the car, keep an eye on the coolant temperature gauge—only turn on the air conditioning when the needle reaches around 90 degrees. Turn the temperature knob to the red high-temperature zone, and set the fan speed to level 2; anything higher can get noisy. Remember to turn off the AC button, as it’s for cooling. If you need to defog, press the front windshield heating button, and the vents will adjust automatically. In winter, it’s best to wait about five minutes after driving before turning on the heater, or you’ll just get cold air and waste fuel. When you first turn on the heat, avoid setting it to the highest temperature right away—start at 22 degrees to adjust gradually, or the windshield might fog up dangerously.

Using the heater actually requires good timing, and I use this technique every day during my commute. After starting the car, don't rush to turn on the AC. First, open the windows to let some air circulate. Wait until the water temperature rises to the middle mark before turning on the fan, and set the temperature control to around 26 degrees—just right. Adjust the vents to blow downward toward your feet, as hot air naturally rises, warming your whole body. Never press the AC button—it's just a waste of electricity. If the windows fog up, simply press the defrost button; the fan will automatically go to maximum speed with outside air circulation. Turn off the heater five minutes before shutting down the car to dry out any moisture in the ducts, preventing mold and odors.
