How to Turn on the Heating in a Volkswagen?

First, start the engine to warm it up. Wait until the engine temperature gauge needle reaches the middle position, then turn on the heating air conditioning. At the same time, set the air circulation to external circulation to allow the cold air inside the car to be expelled. After waiting for 2 to 3 minutes, set the air circulation to internal circulation.
When turning on the heater in my Volkswagen, I usually start the engine first and let it warm up for a while, so the coolant temperature rises and the heater blows hotter air. Then I locate the temperature control knob on the center console and turn it clockwise to the red high-temperature zone. If the car has an automatic climate control system, I press the AUTO button, and the computer will automatically activate the heating. Next, I turn on the fan button to adjust the airflow speed—starting at a low setting initially and increasing it once the cabin warms up. During cold winter starts, I first activate recirculation mode to allow warm air to quickly fill the cabin, then switch to fresh air mode after a few minutes for ventilation. Regularly checking and cleaning the cabin air filter prevents dust buildup from blocking the vents and reducing efficiency. If cold air blows out initially upon startup, this is normal—just wait patiently for the engine to warm up. Ensuring the heater works properly enhances comfort and safety during winter driving. In short, the operation is simple but requires patience for the warmth to build up.
