How to turn on the heater in Volvo S60?

There is a control panel in front of the gear shift: there are red and blue buttons below, the red button increases the temperature and the blue button decreases the temperature. First press the AUTO button, then press the red button, each press increases the temperature by one degree (pressing the blue button does the opposite), you can adjust it to the appropriate temperature. Or the simplest method is: just press the AUTO button. The usage of the 1.8t automatic transmission is the drive gear, shift to D gear and step on the gas to move. Move the gear shift to the +- area next to D, push up to increase a gear, push down to decrease a gear, which is the manual mode in the automatic transmission.
Driving the Volvo S60 with the heater on is quite straightforward. Having driven this car for a while, I usually start the engine first and wait two to three minutes for it to warm up; otherwise, the heating is slow. Then, I look at the temperature control on the center console—turn the large round knob clockwise to the maximum or set a higher temperature, like above 25°C. The screen shows a red bar indicating heating. The fan button is right next to it; press it to adjust the airflow or simply enable AUTO mode for automatic adjustment. Don’t forget to check the AC mode—turn it off if it’s on since it’s for cooling. In winter, I often use recirculation mode to warm up the cabin quickly, then switch to fresh air mode to keep the air fresh. With these steps, the car warms up quickly, and the comfort level is great.
The method for turning on the S60's heater is based on my daily practice. After starting the vehicle, wait a moment for the engine temperature to rise. Then, locate the temperature adjustment knob on the center console and turn it to the high-temperature zone, with the screen displaying around 25°C. Next, adjust the fan knob to control the airflow, starting from low to high to avoid strong wind blowing directly on your face, which could affect driving. For models with automatic air conditioning, simply set the temperature, and the system will automatically control the airflow and mode. When using the heater, ensure appropriate use of the air recirculation mode—initially use recirculation for faster warming, then switch to fresh air mode for ventilation. If there’s a defogging function on the screen, it’s best to activate it to prevent window fogging. The entire process is simple and efficient, with the key being patience while waiting for the car to warm up.
