How to Turn on the Heater in Volkswagen Tiguan?

To turn on the heater in the Volkswagen Tiguan, simply increase the temperature and select an appropriate fan speed. When heating, there is no need to press the AC button, as it is the cooling switch for the car's air conditioning. If you want the car's air conditioning to provide heat, it is recommended to drive normally for 10 to 20 minutes before turning on the air conditioning. The Tiguan is equipped with a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 150 horsepower and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. This engine reaches its maximum power at 5,000 rpm and its maximum torque between 1,750 and 3,000 rpm. The engine features direct fuel injection technology and uses an aluminum alloy cylinder head and block. It is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.
When turning on the heating in my Volkswagen Tiguan, I usually let the engine run for about three to five minutes after starting the car to allow the water temperature to rise before operating the heating, which gives better warmth. Locate the air conditioning panel on the center console—turn the temperature knob to the red zone for high heat, and increase the fan speed for a stronger airflow to warm up faster. I prefer directing the airflow to the feet because warming the feet makes the whole body comfortable, especially during long winter drives. The Tiguan has an automatic air conditioning function; just press the AUTO button and set it to around 25°C, and the system will adjust the airflow and mode automatically, which is quite convenient. Turning off the AC when using the heating can save fuel, but the car handles it automatically, so no need to worry too much. Avoid setting the temperature too high—above 30°C is both fuel-consuming and stuffy. If the heating isn’t warm enough, it might be due to low coolant or a faulty thermostat, so get it checked promptly to ensure driving safety.
