How to Turn On the Heater in a Buick Regal?

Method to activate the heater in a Buick Regal: 1. Start the engine for preheating. After getting in the car, do not turn on the heater immediately, as it is usually needed when the surroundings are cold. At this time, the car's radiator temperature is low, and the air blown out will be cold, which is not good for the engine and may affect its lifespan if done frequently. 2. Turn on the external air circulation, wait until the interior air has been completely replaced, then switch off the external circulation and activate the internal circulation. This process may take a few minutes. The air circulation system is indicated by a car symbol with arrows; the external circulation is the button where the arrow points from outside the car to the inside. 3. Locate the knob with the AC symbol, and adjust the temperature to 25° or above. Some models use red and blue to distinguish temperatures instead of displaying numbers; in this case, turn the knob to the red section to activate the heater.
The heating in my Buick Regal works quite well. As soon as I start the engine and sit in the driver's seat, I turn the temperature knob on the center console to the red zone or high-temperature position. It usually takes about three to five minutes for the engine to warm up before the warm air starts blowing out. I adjust the fan speed myself, but if manual adjustment is too bothersome, I use the auto mode by pressing the AUTO button, which automatically manages the airflow. In winter, the car is freezing when I get in, so I usually turn on the heating early to warm up the cabin. If the air isn't warm enough, it might be due to incorrect temperature settings or a windshield issue—just check the knob position or whether the air ducts are clear. The Buick's air conditioning responds quickly, so there's no need to rush with high fan speeds; waiting for the engine to fully warm up before adjusting makes it much more efficient.
