Geely Vision Dash Cam can be turned on as follows: 1. After the car starts: The dash cam will automatically turn on. Some models of the new Geely Vision come equipped with a built-in dash cam, which is integrated with the rearview mirror. This built-in dash cam is very convenient to use and has an aesthetically pleasing design. 2. Since dash cams are wired: The dash cam will automatically turn on when the car is powered on and will shut down when the car is turned off. The dash cam comes with a built-in battery, but the battery capacity is very small. The built-in battery is designed to provide power for the dash cam's startup and shutdown processes, which is why the dash cam may display low battery after startup.

When I first got my car, I also had no idea how to turn on the dash cam. Actually, it's quite simple. For factory-installed dash cams, they automatically start recording when you start the vehicle—no buttons needed. Aftermarket dash cams are slightly more complicated: first locate the USB port near the center console and plug in the power cable. Usually, the dash cam will start automatically once powered. If there's no response, check the power button (small round button) on the side of the dash cam—press and hold for about 3 seconds to turn it on. After powering on, an indicator light will illuminate or you'll hear a beep. At this point, make sure to check if the screen displays the time and date—if it does, it means it's working properly. Before driving, it's best to set the recording resolution and collision sensitivity. Also, format the memory card monthly to ensure clear recordings.

The most effortless way to power on the dash cam is to have it automatically start when the car ignites, which requires correct wiring. During installation, ask the technician to connect it to the ACC fuse, so the dash cam starts immediately when you turn the key, eliminating the need to press any buttons. Before driving, I usually check if the dash cam's red light is blinking, which indicates it's recording. If it suddenly stops working, unplug and reconnect the power cable to restart it—this fixes the issue 80% of the time. However, in summer, avoid exposing the dash cam to direct sunlight, as high temperatures can cause it to freeze. If the car is parked for more than three days, it's best to unplug the power cable to protect the battery.

There are actually three ways to turn on the dashcam: the easiest is automatic startup, which activates when the key is turned to the ACC position; manual startup involves pressing the button on the device; you can also use a mobile app—first download the companion software from the app store, then connect to the dashcam's Wi-Fi for remote operation. It's recommended to enable parking monitoring mode, which puts the dashcam into sleep mode after the engine is off but automatically activates to record evidence if the vehicle is bumped. Remember to clear the memory card monthly to avoid storage overload and recording failures.

Don't panic if your dash cam won't power on. First, check if the cigarette lighter plug or USB port has good contact. Once my charging cable got loose under the floor mat, causing poor contact and failure to start. Try pressing the power button again. If there's still no response, hold down the reset hole (use a paperclip to poke the small hole) to restore factory settings. Is the power indicator light on but not recording? It's likely the TF card is full or damaged - just replace it with a high-speed card and format it. It's recommended to turn off Wi-Fi auto-connect in settings to save power and reduce heat.
