On the left are three diagonal lines intersected by a curved line, and on the right is a semi-oval shape. The rear fog light is in the next position after the front fog light. The fog light switch for the Teana is located on the lighting control assembly to the left of the steering wheel. Rotate the switch to the corresponding symbol to turn on the fog lights.

Before turning on the fog lights, I must remind you when they're needed—during foggy conditions, rain, or low visibility. Safety first; avoid using them on clear days to prevent distracting others. Operationally, after starting your Teana, ensure the headlights are on (rotate the left stalk near the steering wheel to the low-beam position), then locate the fog light switch, usually at the end or side of the same stalk with a fog light icon. A gentle twist or press will activate it. With over a decade of driving experience, I’ve found that fog lights significantly boost safety in heavy fog by illuminating low road surfaces and reducing glare. Remember to turn them off after use to save power and avoid disturbing others. Regularly check that the fog lights function properly—replace burnt-out bulbs promptly to prevent complications or accidents.

What is the wheelbase length of the Crosstour?

The Crosstour is a leisure sedan developed by Honda based on the Accord platform, with body dimensions of 4995×1900×1560mm and a wheelbase of 2795mm. The Crosstour made its debut at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, equipped with 2.4L and 3.5L engine options. Below are the related details: 1. In terms of exterior design, the Crosstour incorporates multiple crossover elements. The front grille adopts a design similar to the City, while the spacious rear trunk design enhances the rear curve, delivering a unique visual effect. 2. In terms of tuning, the Crosstour leans towards creating agile highway handling. Although it does not feature the VGRS variable gear ratio system, the 2.7-turn steering wheel ratio still falls under the fast category. The steering wheel has a relatively large dead zone, which reduces unnecessary body sway caused by minor hand movements, ensuring more composed direction control during high-speed cruising without compromising steering precision during turns. 3. A unique feature of the Crosstour is the addition of a reset spring in the front suspension. This structure helps reduce the tendency of the inner wheel to lift off the ground during cornering, thereby enhancing tire grip.

Why does the rear tire of the Excelle wear out more severely than the front tire?

The Excelle adopts a multi-link independent rear suspension. The reason why the rear tires wear out more severely than the front tires is due to excessive rear wheel camber deviation, which can be corrected through precise four-wheel alignment. Additionally, it is recommended to rotate the tires every 8,000-10,000 kilometers to ensure even wear across all four tires. Here is some relevant information: 1. Uneven tire wear is generally caused by abnormal tire pressure, wheel balancing issues, four-wheel alignment problems, or other tire replacement-related issues. Uneven tire wear caused by misaligned four-wheel alignment: when the front wheel camber is larger than normal, the outer edge of the tire will show signs of premature wear. If the camber is too small or nonexistent, the inner edge of the tire will wear out prematurely. In such cases, it is necessary to visit an auto repair shop for a four-wheel alignment to restore the tire angles; otherwise, the problem of uneven tire wear will worsen. 2. Uneven tire wear caused by abnormal tire pressure: excessive tire pressure leads to wear in the center, while insufficient tire pressure causes wear on both sides. It could also be due to significant differences in air pressure among the four tires. If the issue is related to wheel balancing, a wheel balancing service is required.

What Causes the Failure of Passat's Keyless Entry Function?

Passat's keyless entry function failure reasons: key fob battery dead; car battery dead; sensor module malfunction; nearby interference sources. In such cases, regardless of subsequent troubleshooting or repairs, the first step is to use the spare mechanical key to unlock the car door. Additional Information: 1. Keyless Entry System: The car keyless entry system, abbreviated as PKE (PASSIVE-KEYLESS-ENTER), utilizes the world's most advanced RFID wireless radio frequency technology and the most sophisticated vehicle identity coding recognition system. It pioneers the development of compact, low-power RF antenna solutions and successfully integrates remote control systems with keyless systems, maintaining traditional vehicle circuit protection. This achieves a true dual RF system with double anti-theft protection, providing maximum convenience and security for car owners. The "car keyless system" is not a traditional key but a smart key or intelligent key. 2. Keyless Entry Principle: Each ignition key contains a chip with a unique fixed ID. The car can only start if the key chip's ID matches the engine's ID. If they do not match, the engine will not start. When the owner turns the key to start the vehicle, the base station emits a low-frequency signal to initiate the authentication process. The key transponder's operating energy is supplied by the base station's low-frequency signal. During authentication, the transponder inside the key first sends its own ID number. After verification by the base station chip, the base station sends a string of random numbers and a MAC address, to which the transponder responds. To enhance security, each transmitted signal consists of encrypted data.

What are the techniques for downshifting in a manual transmission car?

Manual transmission car shifting methods are as follows: 1. Before shifting, always press the clutch pedal all the way down. When operating the gear shift lever, the action should be quick, gentle, and precise. 2. While driving, pay attention to choosing the right time to shift. Before upshifting, always accelerate first. When the vehicle speed reaches the appropriate speed for the next higher gear, shift to the higher gear promptly. 3. When downshifting, as the speed drops to a certain level, shift to the lower gear. Note: 1. Using the appropriate high gear should be done under safe and good road conditions to reduce wear on mechanical parts and lower fuel consumption. Adjust the speed in time according to road and traffic conditions. Avoid driving at low speed with high gear, as the knocking caused by lugging the engine can be harmful to the engine and transmission. 2. For manual transmission cars, remember the principle of "accelerate before upshifting, decelerate before downshifting." Before upshifting, "rev" the throttle to increase the speed first. Before downshifting, "release" the throttle to reduce the speed first. Before shifting, always press the clutch pedal all the way down, and the operation of the gear shift lever should be light, quick, gentle, and precise.

Where Are the Brake Pads Located?

Automobile brake pads are located on the brake discs or brake drums of the vehicle. They are friction materials fixed to the rotating brake drums or discs. The friction linings and blocks bear external pressure, generating friction to achieve the purpose of vehicle deceleration. Here is a related introduction about automobile brake pads: 1. Brake pads are also called brake linings. In the braking system of a car, brake pads are the most critical safety components. The effectiveness of all braking relies decisively on the brake pads, making high-quality brake pads the guardian of both people and vehicles. 2. Automobile brake pads are generally composed of steel plates, adhesive insulation layers, and friction blocks. The steel plates are coated to prevent rust, and the coating process is monitored using an SMT-4 furnace temperature tracker to ensure the temperature distribution during coating meets quality standards. 3. The insulation layer is made of non-heat-conductive materials to provide thermal insulation. The friction blocks consist of friction materials and adhesives. During braking, they are pressed against the brake discs or drums to generate friction, thereby achieving vehicle deceleration and braking. Due to friction, the friction blocks gradually wear out. Generally, the lower the cost of the brake pads, the faster they wear. 4. Once the friction material is worn out, the brake pads should be replaced promptly. Otherwise, the steel plates will come into direct contact with the brake discs, ultimately leading to loss of braking effectiveness and damage to the brake discs.
