Tiguan's fog light switch is located on the lighting assembly to the left of the steering wheel. You can turn the fog lights on or off by rotating the switch. The front fog lights of the Tiguan feature an integrated design of the lamp cover and housing, meaning the cover cannot be replaced separately—only the entire fog light assembly can be replaced. If you need to replace the fog light cover, follow these steps to remove the fog light: 1. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry from the back of the fog light grille, releasing the clips inside. Then, use the screwdriver to pry the clips securing the grille to the front bumper from the front gap. Once all clips are released, remove the fog light grille. 2. Remove the two screws fixing the fog light in place. 3. After removing the screws, the fog light is secured by two tabs inserted into the bumper's clip holes. Hold the area where the screws were removed and gently pull upwards to detach the front fog light.

I've been driving my Tiguan for several years, and the steps to turn on the fog lights are pretty straightforward. First, you need to turn on the headlights; otherwise, the fog light option will be grayed out. Then, look at the control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel—there's a ring-shaped switch on its inner side with a small fog light icon. Rotating it clockwise activates the front fog lights, and another turn might bring up the rear fog light option. In rainy or foggy conditions, it significantly improves visibility, but avoid using it unnecessarily on clear nights to prevent blinding others. If you're unsure about the icon's location, check the owner's manual—some newer Tiguan models have electronic buttons on the dashboard. I recommend checking the lights during every service to prevent unexpected failures. Remember, proper use of fog lights is a responsibility for your safety and others', and some local regulations require them to be on during severe weather.

From a safety perspective, I always emphasize the importance of promptly turning on the fog lights when driving the Tiguan. In heavy fog or rain, first turn on the headlights, then locate the rotary knob marked with the fog light symbol at the end of the control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel. A gentle twist will activate the front fog lights. Remember to use the rear fog lights only when visibility drops below 200 meters to avoid dazzling vehicles behind you. I make it a habit to test the system before each trip, ensuring the lights illuminate without flickering. If there's no response, it could indicate a blown fuse or a switch issue. During regular maintenance, check the wiring connections and clean the bulbs to prevent dust buildup from affecting performance. Fog lights aren't just illumination tools—they significantly reduce accident risks in low-visibility conditions, ensuring smooth and worry-free driving.

How to Solve the Squeaking Noise When Opening and Closing Car Doors?

Solutions for squeaking noises when opening and closing car doors are as follows: 1. Hinge stiffness causing noise: The noise caused by door hinges is similar to that of house door hinges. Just as applying sesame oil to house door hinges can solve the noise, lubricating the car door hinges can also resolve the issue. 2. Aging seals causing noise: Since dust and sand easily accumulate in the gaps of seals, they should be regularly cleaned with a brush, followed by applying a high-permeability protective agent to prevent seal aging. If the seals are severely damaged or significantly aged, it's best to replace them for convenience. 3. Dry friction of interior panels causing noise: For this type of noise, products like "interior part conditioner" can be used. The 3M series includes such products, which primarily serve as lubricants. Spraying along the seams where the noise originates will quickly reduce the noise. 4. Dust entering the windshield: This usually happens with the front windshield. It might be mistaken for loose clips of the dashboard plastic cover, but it's actually caused by dust entering the windshield. Simply removing the connecting panel and cleaning can solve the problem. 5. Electric window lift noise: First, check if the noise is due to excessive dust on the window seals causing friction with the glass. If so, cleaning the seals can resolve the issue. Another possibility is a problem with the window regulator, in which case it's best to have it inspected at a repair shop.
