Hongqi H5 air conditioning activation method is as follows: 1. Press the power button on the AC fan or AC switch. 2. After air starts flowing from the vents, adjust the temperature to a comfortable level and set the airflow direction. 3. Note: Keep windows closed when using AC to prevent energy waste and fuel consumption due to ineffective cooling. 4. Do not operate AC when refrigerant is insufficient to avoid overloading the system and shortening its lifespan. The automotive air conditioning system is designed to cool, heat, ventilate and purify cabin air. It provides passengers with a comfortable environment, reduces driver fatigue, and enhances driving safety.

When I first drove the Hongqi H5, I also researched how to use the air conditioning—it's actually quite simple. Locate the button with the fan icon on the center console to the right of the steering wheel, press it to turn on the system. Then, rotate the knob in the same row to adjust the temperature: turn counterclockwise toward the blue zone to cool and clockwise toward the red zone to warm. Use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the fan speed. For automatic climate control, just press the AUTO button, and the system will balance airflow and temperature automatically. To quickly defog, press the front windshield defogger button, and the button with an arrow in a circle switches between recirculation and fresh air modes. If using the central touchscreen, tap the air conditioning icon at the bottom to adjust vent angles or activate seat heating. Remember to turn off the AC before shutting off the engine to avoid overloading it upon the next startup.

The air conditioning controls for the Hongqi H5 are mainly handled via the physical button area on the central console: press the fan symbol to turn it on after starting the car, use the temperature knob to set the cooling/heating level, and adjust the airflow with the +/- buttons. Activating auto mode is more convenient—press the AUTO button, and the system will automatically adjust the airflow based on the difference between the current cabin temperature and the outside temperature. The dual-zone temperature control allows the driver and front passenger to set different temperatures, each adjustable via their own knob. For deeper control, tap the car icon at the bottom of the screen to enter the AC interface, where you can toggle the ionizer or adjust vent angles. The front defrost button is located next to the wiper stalk. In summer, it’s recommended to use the mobile app to remotely start the AC five minutes beforehand for cooling—a highly practical feature.

To turn on the car's air conditioning, simply press the physical button with the fan icon on the center console panel. After the air conditioning system is activated, rotate the temperature knob to set a comfortable range—red for warming and blue for cooling. Press the AUTO button to enable the mode, where the system automatically adjusts the fan speed based on the temperature difference, eliminating the need for frequent manual adjustments. The fan speed button allows for manual intervention at any time, and the air circulation mode can be switched using the knob with an arrow. Press the front defrost button to clear fog, and use the square-patterned button for rear defrosting. If manual operation is too cumbersome, you can activate the car's voice command by saying 'Turn on the air conditioning,' making it more convenient to adjust settings via voice control during navigation. Remember to replace the car's air filter annually; otherwise, it may affect cooling efficiency and air quality.

Operating the air conditioner involves three steps: First, start the vehicle and press the fan button on the center console to turn it on. Then, rotate the temperature control knob to a comfortable position. Finally, use the airflow button to adjust the intensity. When the auto mode is activated, an AUTO icon will appear on the dashboard, and the system will intelligently adjust the compressor power and air vent angles based on the set temperature. The physical button area includes dedicated front and rear defogger buttons—pressing the front defogger button is most effective when the windshield fogs up. For screen control, tap the air conditioning settings interface at the bottom of the center console to enable seat ventilation or set a timer for shutdown. Avoid keeping the external circulation on for too long during highway driving to prevent dust buildup. Regularly clean the air conditioning ducts to prevent odors.

To turn on the air conditioning, first press the fan button to power it on, then rotate the temperature knob to set the cooling/heating level, and use the air volume button to adjust the airflow intensity. Automatic air conditioning is recommended for daily use—pressing AUTO allows the system to automatically balance temperature and energy consumption. The dual-zone temperature control design is thoughtful, with separate knobs for the driver and front passenger to set different temperatures. When operating via the central control screen, the air conditioning interface can adjust the airflow direction: face, feet, or windshield. Voice control is the easiest—just say 'Hello Hongqi, turn on the air conditioning' to operate without distraction. In summer, if parked outdoors, it's advisable to open the windows for ventilation before turning on the AC for faster cooling and better fuel efficiency. Replace the cabin air filter every 10,000 km to ensure air quality.
